Use in photovoltaic systems
The WM3E6 electricity meter, combined with a bistable switch, acts as a directional limiter for exported active power. It has a preset directional protection function that detects when the maximum permitted power generated from renewable sources and fed into the public distribution grid is exceeded, as specified in the amendment to the self-supply regulation.
The public grid is protected from exported energy by a combination of the WM3E6 energy meter and a disconnecting bistable switch. When the WM3E6 detects that the configured limit has been exceeded continuously for one minute in the direction of the public grid, it disconnects the connection point from the public grid.
Reconnection to the public grid is enabled using the ON push-button. The button becomes active five seconds after the grid has been disconnected. To reconnect the public grid, press and hold the button for at least three seconds.
