Modbus TCP/IP communication:

Smart portable chargers support Modbus TCP/IP communication protocol, which enables third party home automation systems to monitor and control each portable charger, connected to local Wi-Fi network. Modbus MASTER device can read real time charging power, current, voltage and charging energy information from portable charger as well as set the charging current. Over-the-air (OTA) software update:

OTA update can be performed by any user via internet, using Metron Device Access application. The update process is fully automated and requires portable charger to have internet access via Wi-Fi.

All our products are produced in a carbon neutral way by using “Sustainable energy cycle” method. Production plant where we make charging cables and portable charging stations is the first fully sustainable production facility for EV charging cables. All energy, needed for the heating and cooling of the building, production process and for transportation of goods and employees (except deliveries of heavy materials by trucks), is produced by 2 photovoltaic power plants and stored in 4 storage batteries. Almost all of the raw materials we use (cables, plugs) are produced in EU, to shorten supply routes and support local economy. Buying our products helps developing sustainable economy.

WHAT IS RCD AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

RCD is an acronym for Residual Current Device – sometimes it can be called also Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker or Safety Switch. Its purpose is to prevent you from getting a fatal electric shock if you touch live part, such as a bare copper wire under high voltage. RCDs offer a level of personal protection that ordinary fuses/circuit-breakers cannot provide. RCD constantly monitors the electric current flowing through one or more circuits which it protects. If it detects electricity flowing down an unintended path, such as through a person who has touched a live part, the RCD will switch the circuit off very quickly, significantly reducing the risk of death or serious injury. Every portable charging station has integrated Type A 30mA AC + 6mA DC RCD what ensures maximum possible level of personal protection as it protects users from AC, pulsating DC and pure DC leakage currents.

RENAULT ZOE NOTES:

  1. This portable charger (portable charging station) also compatible with Renault ZOE (all motor versions are supported), which means Renault ZOE won’t damage this portable charger – won’t weld internal contactors!
  2. Before charging starts Renault ZOE’s on-board charger system checks, if the wall socket from which you want to charge the car is correctly connected to a GOOD electrical grid, otherwise ZOE won’t start charging. The wall socket/grid must have the following characteristics:
  • Phase sequence in wall socket must be in clockwise rotation (L1-L2-L3). If the wall socket phase sequence is L3-L2-L1 (counterclockwise) some Zoe versions won’t charge! To check phases and phase sequence you can use our PHASE TESTER device.
  • Electrical grid behind wall socket must have low impedance (cables with conductor cross sections must have at least 2.5mm2)
  • Earthing/grounding: earth resistance should be less than 100 Ohm
  • The voltage difference between neutral and earth should be very low (if this is a problem it can be solved by experienced electrician in the way neutral and earth are connected together in a wall socket if there is no RCD protection in the building or before RDC protection device if it exists)
  • Wall socket RCD (Ground fault protection) device must be Type A (30mA) or Type A with added 6mA DC RCD or Type B. RCD Type AC (30mA) is not appropriate, because it can be activated by Renault ZOE charging system!
  • When charging at single phase (using CEE to schuko adapter), it’s important that phase and neutral are correctly positioned. If it doesn’t work turn schuko domestic plug by 180 deg. and it will (most likely) work.
